See what AI searches for.
Type a question your customers ask. Fan-Out Finder shows the web searches an OpenAI model runs to answer it, the sites it cites, and whether your page covers those searches.
Fan-Out Finder is not in the ChatGPT plugin directory yet. Until it is, you can run it on this page.

Type one question a customer would ask you. It runs three times, which takes about a minute, and then the result opens on its own page.
One question, run on October 7, 2026.
An assistant rarely searches for the words you typed. It rewrites the question into several searches of its own, and the pages those searches find are the ones it can cite. People call that step query fan-out, and this article explains it. Here is what the plugin returned for one question, with gusto.com entered as the site to watch.
The question: best payroll service for a 10 person company
What it searched for, and how many of the 3 runs each search showed up in
- best payroll services for small business 10 employees 2026 comparison Gusto ADP Paychex Rippling QuickBooks OnPay Square 3/3
- ADP RUN small business review 2026 pricing 3/3
- Gusto small business payroll features pricing 2026 2/3
- OnPay review 2026 small business payroll 1/3
| Site it cited | Runs |
|---|---|
| adp.com | 2/3 |
| gusto.com | 2/3 |
| quickbooks.intuit.com | 2/3 |
| capterra.com | 1/3 |
| fitsmallbusiness.com | 1/3 |
Four of the six searches and five of the thirteen cited sites are shown. The model added the year and seven brand names to a question that had neither.
How to use it.
- In a ChatGPT chat, type
@Fan-Out Finderand then a question a customer would ask. Add your domain if you want it watched. - Read the searches. The ones marked 3/3 came back on every run, so those are the searches to have a page for.
- Ask it to check one of your pages. It reads that page once and tells you which searches the page answers and which it misses.
Every result also gets its own link, which stays up for 30 days so you can send it to whoever writes your pages.
What it measures, and what it does not.
Fan-Out Finder sends your question to an OpenAI model (gpt-5-mini) through OpenAI's API with web search turned on. It does that three times and reports what came back. The ChatGPT app uses its own models and settings, and it can search differently for a signed-in user. Treat the result as a close read of how OpenAI's models rewrite a question, and expect the app to differ in the details.
It covers one question at a time on one company's models. A full AI visibility audit runs your customers' questions in the real apps across six engines.
Is Fan-Out Finder free?
Yes. There is no account and no payment. Each person gets 5 questions a day, and the plugin answers 20 questions a day in total, because every question costs us about 12 cents in OpenAI API fees.
Are these the exact searches the ChatGPT app runs?
No. They are the searches an OpenAI model ran through the API for the same question. The app can run different ones, which is why the result names the model and the date.
Why does it run each question three times?
The same question produces different searches from one run to the next. Three runs show which searches come back every time and which appeared once. More on repeat runs.
Privacy and support.
Fan-Out Finder is run by EZ Web Development LLC. The ChatGPT plugin has no sign-in and never asks for your name or email address. The form on this page asks for an email address, and what happens to it is listed below.
What it receives
- The question you ask it, and the domain or page address if you give one.
- An anonymous ID from ChatGPT that tells one user from another without saying who they are. We use it for one thing, counting your 5 questions a day. The form on this page has no ChatGPT ID, so it counts with a scrambled copy of your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the address.
- Your email address, only if you use the form on this page. It goes to the same inbox as the other forms on ezweb.dev, with your question and the link to your result. OpenAI never receives it. We use it to follow up with you about that result.
The plugin does not receive the rest of your chat or your ChatGPT memory, and nothing it gets identifies you.
What it keeps, and for how long
- Each result (the question, the domain, the searches, the cited sites, the date, and a page check if you ran one) is kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. It lives at a link only you are given. The link is not listed anywhere and search engines are told not to index it, but anyone you send it to can open it.
- The daily counter tied to the anonymous ID or the scrambled IP address is deleted after 48 hours.
- A form submission is kept the way every form on this site is, which the privacy policy sets out.
Who else sees it
- OpenAI receives the question through its API, because its model is what runs the searches.
- Cloudflare hosts the plugin and stores the results.
- Netlify hosts this site and receives the form submission, email address included.
- The page you ask it to check gets one request from us, identified as
EZWebFanOutFinder/1.0. We follow that site's robots.txt and skip the page if it says no.
We do not sell or share any of it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not add anyone to a mailing list from it.
Deleting a result, and getting help
Email ezra@ezweb.dev with the result link and we will delete it within 30 days and confirm. The same address is the support contact for the plugin, and a person answers. The rest of how EZ Web handles data is in the privacy policy, and the terms apply here too.
